Melissa was born, raised, and continues to live in New York City. She current works as a teacher; spending most of her time on the floor, finger painting or covered in glitter. Melissa is an avid lover of reading, punk rock music, and speaking about herself in third person. Most days she can be found snuggling with her French Bulldog, Lola and, occasionally, her husband, Ryan (Although he's not really allowed on the couch).Most importantly Melissa is a lover of research whether about reality or mythology/religion. She believes every author must do their research and use some of it as their foundation. Often she can be found reading books or watching movies scowling at inaccuracies. More than once she has stated "That's not the real story of gods/goddess/werewolves/vampires/angel/enter-your-paranormal-character-here."
